Description

A soothing and flavorful drink made with turmeric, ginger, and lemon.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric or 1-inch piece fresh turmeric
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 2 cups water or milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • Optional: 3 slices fresh ginger

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water or milk, turmeric, black pepper, and optional ginger.
  2. Simmer the mixture gently for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally to allow the flavors to infuse.
  3. Strain the mixture into a mug using a fine mesh strainer to remove any solids.
  4. Stir in lemon juice and honey or maple syrup to taste.
  5. Serve hot. Garnish with a lemon slice or sprinkle cinnamon if desired.
