Description

Delicious and festive sparkling white chocolate apples make for a perfect treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or your choice)
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips or white candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening
  • Edible glitter (for decoration)
  • Popsicle sticks or skewers

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples:
Wash and thoroughly dry the apples to remove any wax coating.
Insert a popsicle stick into the top of each apple, ensuring it is secure.
  2. Melt the White Chocolate:
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and coconut oil.
Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler on the stove.
  3. Coat the Apples:
Holding the stick, dip each apple into the melted chocolate, rotating to ensure even coating.
Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing the apple on a sheet of wax paper.
  4. Decorate:
Immediately sprinkle the edible glitter over the wet chocolate before it sets.
Allow the chocolate to harden completely at room temperature or refrigerate briefly for faster setting.
  5. Serve:
Once set, the apples are ready to serve. They can be served whole or sliced for easier consumption.

Notes

  • Make sure to dry the apples completely after washing, as any moisture can prevent the chocolate from adhering properly.
  • Experiment with different colors of edible glitter for various themes or occasions.
  • If the chocolate becomes too thick during dipping, stir in a little more coconut oil to achieve a smoother consistency.
  • Apples can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
