Description

This homemade bread recipe is simple and perfect for beginners. Its soft texture and rich flavor make it an ideal addition to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup hot milk
  • 1/2 cup butter (or 1/4 pound)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups white flour

Instructions

  1. Mix the hot milk, butter, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl (a stand mixer works great) and let cool until lukewarm.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the yeast into the warm water and let it stand for 5 minutes to dissolve and get a little frothy.
  3. Add the dissolved yeast and the eggs to the first mixture and beat vigorously.
  4. Using a hook attachment for the stand mixer, gradually add the flour and mix for 3 minutes.
  5. Cover bowl loosely with plastic wrap or a towel.
  6. Let the dough rise until doubled in size. This should take about 1 hour.
  7. Preheat oven to 350. Pour the mixture into a buttered loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes.
  8. Let the loaf cool for 5 minutes in the pan then transfer to cooling rack to let it cool more before slicing.

Notes
