Description

Delicious roasted Brussels sprouts with a hint of lemon and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Wash and dry the Brussels sprouts thoroughly then trim the stems and cut each one in half for even roasting.
  3. Place the Brussels sprouts in a large bowl and toss with olive oil, salt and black pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the Brussels sprouts on the baking sheet cut side down leaving space between pieces for proper browning.
  5. Roast for 20 to 25 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown and the centers are fork tender. Tip: avoid stirring too often to allow caramelization.
  6. Remove from the oven, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the sprouts and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese while hot. Tip: serve immediately for best texture.

Notes

  • For an added kick, consider sprinkling some red pepper flakes before roasting.
  • These Brussels sprouts are best served hot and fresh out of the oven.
