Description

A delicious homemade plum syrup, perfect for drizzling over pancakes or ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7 plums
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (or orange juice)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove the pits from the plums and chop them into small chunks.
  2. Add the sugar, water, lemon juice and cinnamon stick to a pot. Heat for a few minutes until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the plums and bring to the boil.
  4. Reduce the heat and cook, stirring occasionally, for 7-10 minutes or until the fruit begins to break down. The syrup will thicken slightly as it cools.
  5. Enjoy warm or allow to cool and store in a jar in the fridge for up to 10 days.
