Description

Enjoy these delicious and easy mini crescent dog appetizers at your next gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package cocktail sausages or mini hot dogs
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg (optional, for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (optional, for egg wash)
  • Ketchup or mustard for dipping
  • Fresh rosemary for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a flat surface. Separate the dough into triangles following the perforations.
  3. Cut the Dough: Cut each triangle into smaller strips. Each strip should be large enough to wrap around a cocktail sausage once.
  4. Wrap the Sausages: Place each cocktail sausage at the wide end of a dough strip and roll it up towards the narrow end. Ensure the dough overlaps slightly to secure the sausage.
  5. Prepare Egg Wash (Optional): In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to make an egg wash.
  6. Apply Egg Wash (Optional): Brush the top of each wrapped sausage lightly with the egg wash for a golden brown finish.
  7. Bake: Place the wrapped sausages on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescent dough is golden brown.
  8. Cool and Garnish: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Arrange on a serving platter with rosemary sprigs for garnish.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can sprinkle some sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top before baking.
  • Serve with a variety of dipping sauces like honey mustard, barbecue sauce, or sriracha mayo for more flavor options.
  • You can also add a small piece of cheese under the sausage before rolling for a cheesy surprise!
