Description

This grilled ham steak with apricot glaze is a deliciously simple dish that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ham steak (fully cooked, center-cut, one inch thick)
  • 1 cup apricot glaze

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apricot glaze and set aside.
  2. Slash the fat edge of the steak in several places to prevent it from curling up.
  3. Place the ham into a shallow container and pour the glaze over top.
  4. Marinate for a few hours, turning the ham over to marinate both sides.
  5. Preheat the grill on medium-high heat and oil the grate.
  6. Remove the ham steak and place on the hot grill.
  7. Grill on the hot grill for 4 to 5 minutes per side, brushing with leftover marinade occasionally.
  8. Move the ham out of the flame if there is a flare-up at any time.
  9. Cook until heated throughout and the glaze is browned. You don’t have to actually cook it, just heat it up as the ham is already cooked, so don’t dry it out!
  10. Remove, slice, and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure not to overcook the ham steak to keep it moist.
  • Feel free to adjust the sweetness of the glaze to preference.
