Description

Delightfully sweet and visually stunning, perfect for parties or festive occasions!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium-sized apples
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring
  • 6 lollipop sticks or wooden skewers
  • 1/4 cup edible glitter or sparkling sugar
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • few drops blue food coloring (optional)
  • silver edible pearls (optional) – for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples:
Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Insert a lollipop stick or wooden skewer into each apple, ensuring they are secure.
  2. Make the Candy Coating:
In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Allow the mixture to boil without stirring. Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature. Once it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), remove from heat. Quickly stir in the red food coloring until the mixture is evenly colored.
  3. Coat the Apples:
Carefully dip each apple into the hot candy mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow excess candy to drip off. Place the coated apples on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow them to cool for 10-15 minutes until the candy hardens.
  4. Add Decorations:
Melt white chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler. If desired, add a few drops of blue food coloring for a colorful effect. Dip the top of each candy-coated apple in the melted chocolate and immediately sprinkle with edible glitter, sparkling sugar, and silver edible pearls.
  5. Set the Decorations:
Allow the chocolate and decorations to set at room temperature.

Notes

  • Ensure the apples are completely dry before dipping them in the candy mixture to help the coating stick.
  • Work quickly when dipping the apples to prevent the candy from hardening in the pan.
  • If the candy starts to harden while dipping, gently reheat it until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • Experiment with different colors and decorations for a personalized touch.
