Description
A comforting casserole dish made with ground beef, cheese, and rice.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10 oz) French onion soup, condensed
- 1 can (10 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess grease. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
- Stir in French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Add cooked rice and stir until the mixture is fully combined.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and pour in the mixture evenly.
- Top with mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Cover with foil.
- Bake covered for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake another 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
- Remove from oven, let rest for 5–10 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
- This casserole can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
- You can substitute different cheeses if desired.
