Description

Delicious spiced cake mix cookies decorated with royal icing and mini M&M candies.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Egg (Large, Room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup Butter (Unsalted, Room temperature)
  • 1 box Spiced cake mix box (15 oz. box)
  • 1 cup Royal icing or melted chocolate (Optional, For decoration)
  • 1/2 cup Mini m&m candies (Optional, For decoration)

Instructions

  1. Add the egg and butter in a mixing bowl and mix until thoroughly combined.
  2. Sift the boxed cake mix.
  3. Add the cake mix into the wet mixture and mix until just combined. Don’t over mix.
  4. If the dough is sticky, cover and chill for about 1 hour so that it’s easier to handle. It also prevents cookies from spreading too much while baking and they hold their shape better.
  5. Roll the dough between two sheets of wax paper or parchment paper and use your cutters to cut out various shapes.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 6-8 minutes or until the edges are firm and slightly brown.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool completely and then decorate them with royal icing or melted chocolate and candies. Enjoy.

  • Chilling the dough is essential for better handling.
